West Berkshire Crematorium shortlisted for two prestigious awards

There’s double reason for celebration at West Berkshire Crematorium after it was announced it is in the running for two prestigious 2023 Good Funeral Awards.

The crematorium itself is one of two sites owned and operated by Westerleigh Group named as finalists in the coveted Crematorium of the Year category of the awards, which are run by the Association of Green Funeral Directors.

Meanwhile, manager Stephanie Langford has been named as a finalist for the Yearly Achievement Award.

The winners will be announced at a banquet evening in September.

Westerleigh Group is one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 38 sites across England, Scotland and Wales, all set within beautifully-landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.

West Berkshire Crematorium was opened in 2006 and is set in 10 acres of countryside, landscaped with over 250 trees.

Her Yearly Achievement Award nomination is in recognition of her commitment to the bereaved, leading the transformation of the crematorium and its grounds as well as her perseverance in studying for the ICCM diploma in cemetery and crematorium management.

All the colleagues who work at West Berkshire Crematorium are passionate about the families they serve and providing them with the very best care at all times. It is very humbling to see them recognised in this way.
