Our customers, colleagues and communities are at the heart of what we do. Therefore in light of the developing Covid-19 situation, we will be posting information on what action we are taking based upon recommendations by the Government and Public Health England.
Please note that following the passing of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020, our Crematorium and Cemetery Grounds are currently closed to all visitors.
The new Regulations require that during the emergency period, the crematorium be closed to members of the public, except for funerals or burials. We are very sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause, and we thank you for your cooperation.
Please note also that our Offices are also closed for visitors. Should you require any further assistance, please contact the Crematorium Office by telephone, where our colleagues will be happy to assist you.
Welcome to West Berkshire Crematorium
Opened in 2006, the crematorium offers a quiet and rural setting for the people of West Berkshire.
Set in 10 acres of countryside, the building has been especially designed to blend into its natural surroundings. Landscaped with over 250 trees and built in Newbury red brick it closely resembles the appearance of a country house.
With the largest purpose built crematorium chapel in the county we are able to seat 96 people with standing space for a further 50. Speakers are also located outside the chapel allowing larger parties to be catered for.
We feel that it is essential that you are able to hold the funeral of your choice and our chapel can be altered, with prior arrangement, to create a suitable environment for a service of any religion or belief.
