Multi-award winning ashes scattering ceremonies that bring peace and closure
Aerial Ashes provides an environmentally clean method of scattering cremated remains, sensitively managed by a team of experts, ensuring that you can focus on what is important.
From the sky, ashes are gently and finely dispersed over the selected location, allowing families to witness the moment and say goodbye in a uniquely personal setting.
Each drone can carry the ashes of one person and will either fly the occasion as a singleton, or in company with another drone used to video, photograph or live stream as required. Should you require the scattering of ashes of more than one person, additional drones can be added to fly together with a simultaneous release.

Scattering locations

The choice of location for ash scattering is up to you, however, we will need to follow specific guidelines for the selected location. For over-land sites, we must have the landowner's permission but we will handle all communication on your behalf.
Scattering ashes at sea is usually less complicated due to extant legal permissions but beaches can get very busy. We therefore try to arrange to launch very early in the morning so we can meet our safety operating criteria as well as avoiding crowds, giving you a peaceful moment of remembrance as we release the ashes.
What to expect on the day
When you book with Aerial Ashes, you'll receive full confirmation with everything you need to know, including meeting details and what to expect.
In the lead-up to your ceremony, we'll monitor the weather and check in with you to confirm any final details or special requests. If poor weather is forecast, we'll talk through your options and adapt to your needs. We'll arrive early to set up and complete safety checks before you arrive.
When you're ready, you'll hand over the ashes for our careful preparation. We'll talk through how the ceremony will run and ensure you're completely comfortable with all aspects.
You can choose to press the release button yourself, have music played, or include readings or a moment of reflection - whatever feels right for you.
The drone will then take off and fly a short route before releasing the ashes into the air, with the ashes gently and symbolically dissipating in front of you. People describe this moment as spiritual and peaceful. We'll then allow a few moments of quiet reflection before landing. Every ceremony is handled with care, respect, and attention to your wishes.
